The Traveler

"The Traveler" tells the story of a lone explorer hiking through the English countryside, who stumbles upon a marching band and is whisked away into a magical world filled with wonder and excitement. The show features a soloist playing an Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI), which utilizes a variety of patches, including Penny Whistles, Bagpipes, and other similar sounds to capture the spirit of the countryside. The musical repertoire includes staples of band literature by English composers, such as "Children's March" by Percy Grainger, "First Suite in E-Flat" by Gustav Holst, "Scarborough Fair" (Traditional), "Greensleeves" (Traditional), and the "Jig" from Holst's St. Paul's Suite, creating a journey that transports both the performer and audience into a vivid, whimsical adventure.
