Show Synopsis
The journey begins with Justin Timberlake’s Mirror, where shattered reflections come to life on the performance floor. Broken mirrors symbolize fractured luck and distorted self-image, immersing the audience in a world where every glance feels uncertain. As the ensemble plays, mirrors are splintered both musically and visually, drawing the audience into the uneasy atmosphere of superstition. This tension escalates with Rihanna’s Umbrella, performed with umbrellas boldly opened indoors. What would normally be a symbol of protection becomes an omen of misfortune, heightening the playful danger of tempting fate.
The show then transitions into Julie Davila’s Mystic Fire, where knocking on wood becomes the central motif. The ensemble uses this timeless act of warding off bad luck as both a visual and percussive element, blending ritual and rhythm. Finally, the energy ignites with Stevie Wonder’s legendary Superstition. Here, the stage is filled with unlucky symbols—ladders, black cats, spilled salt, and more—culminating in a vibrant celebration of rhythm and belief. By the finale, the performers transform these dark omens into a colorful spectacle, proving that fear can be flipped into power, and superstition into unforgettable artistry.
