Rise and Fall (Open)

Rise and Fall features a clear, accessible concept brought to life through a creative mix of visual and musical elements. The show opens with the battery on the ground, slowly rising during an accelerando drumset solo, setting the tone for the many rising and falling musical and visual moments throughout. Highlights include crescendo/diminuendo passages, tempo shifts, breathing visuals, a snare feature with a Shepard's tone sample, a cymbal toss, and a unique bass drum/talking drum duet. Commissioned by the Notre Dame Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Rise and Fall helped them earn a gold medal at the Ohio Indoor Performance Association State Championships and a strong WGI Open Class finish.
