Show Synopsis

For years, the ballroom has stood abandoned—silent, forgotten, and frozen in time. But when the clock strikes midnight, the darkness suddenly comes alive. A haunting bassoon solo summons the spirits of dancers from long ago, transforming the empty hall into a supernatural celebration of swirling motion, mystery, and spectacle. Featuring original music by John Max McFarland alongside Aram Khachaturian’s thrilling “Masquerade Waltz,” the ghosts reclaim their ballroom for one final night, dancing with an energy that grows more exhilarating and frantic with every passing hour.

But their time is limited. As midnight races toward sunrise, the masquerade becomes a desperate attempt to keep the celebration alive before the first light of morning forces the spirits back into the shadows. The music accelerates, the dancing intensifies, and the ballroom erupts into one final frenzy before dawn inevitably arrives. As the last ghosts vanish, the bassoon solo returns, signaling their disappearance and leaving the ballroom exactly as it began—empty, silent, and waiting for the next Midnight Masquerade
