Incomplete

Incomplete is a motif-based show that explores the many meanings of the term. It opens with a lone percussionist playing a single chime amidst a howling wind, setting the stage for the low brass to introduce the haunting motif from Schubert's Unfinished Symphony. The first segment is filled with phrases that halt abruptly or delay resolution, emphasizing the theme of incompletion. The second segment shifts to emotional pop ballads, including "Incomplete" by the Backstreet Boys and "Fix You" by Coldplay, featuring expressive solos from alto sax, flute, and clarinet. A brief percussion feature leads into the third segment, built around Mozart's Requiem, which he famously died before completing. The show ends with an unresolved chord and a powerful visual: the band forms a circle with one missing spot—filled at the last moment by the chime player, who strikes a final note to bring symbolic closure.
