Step back in time to the dawn of man! Caveman begins with the iconic opening of Also Sprach Zarathustra, instantly transporting the audience to a prehistoric world reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The mood quickly shifts into a lively, jungle-inspired original composition by John Max McFarland, where students bring the Stone Age to life through playful grunts, chants, and even a xylophone built from “dinosaur bones.” The energy is fun and lighthearted, perfectly suited for younger performers who get to act, play, and immerse themselves in the world of cavemen.

The adventure takes a dramatic twist when a mighty T-Rex makes its grand entrance, brought to life by a student in costume. As the music swells, the cavemen scramble and scatter, chased hilariously across the floor by the dinosaur. With its mix of comedy, excitement, and charm, Caveman is designed to delight performers and audiences alike. This imaginative and cute production is the perfect fit for any Regional A Class ensemble looking for a show that balances musicality, entertainment, and fun storytelling.
