A note about Led Zeppelin's copyright licensing:

Led Zeppelin allows their music to be arranged for marching bands via a "gratis license" which means that there is NO FEE to arrange their music.  It may still be necessary to register the songs to obtain a license certifcate for your competitive circuit.  This can be done by registering the songs via tresonamusic.com or directly with the publisher.  A list of songs included in this show can be found below. 

The Last Viking is a motif based show that loosely tells the tale of the decline of a Viking clan through segmented vignettes.  The show utilizes traditional viking and sea shanties as well as famous hits from Led Zeppelin to tell the musical story.

Segment 1 introduces the Vikings and gives the listener/viewer an insight on the character and nature of the Viking clan

Segment 2 reflects on the descendants and history of the clan and lamenting the fact that they are the last ones left

Segment 3 is a percussion feature utilizing the famous drum beat and groove from Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks".  The segment represents one final battle which leaves the clan decimated to one last Viking

Segment 4 wraps up the show with an energetic closing segment.  Utilizing Led Zeppelin's iconic "Stairway to Heaven", the segment represents the last viking's ascent to the heavenly realm.  

This show was designed with smaller bands in mind, but would still work for larger bands. Originally commissioned by Angelo Kortyka and the Saint Edward High School Marching Band, the Eagles went on to qualify for state finals and received a superior rating.
