Bon-GO! Program Notes

Bon-GO! was commissioned by David Eddleman for the Avon Lake High School Symphonic Band Percussion Section.  The title is derived from the presence of the bongo part, which helps set the mood and create the energetic nature of the piece.  The bongo part acts as a quasi “leader” of the piece where many of the major sections and transitions are set up and established by that part.  The piece is short and sweet, but also offers some good technical material as well as some good ensemble groove opportunities for the percussionists.

Bon-GO! was premiered on May 8, 2019 at the Avon Lake High School Performing Arts Center in Avon Lake, Ohio
