In Shining Armor is a metaphor for the heroes in our lives throughout history, starting with with the literal interpretation of a knight in shining armor and ending with our every day heroes (Teachers, Doctors, First Responders, etc.)
Segment 1 opens with Homeward Bound from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. This drives home the idea of the classic knight in shining armor. After the opening impact the show switches gears to Sia's Unstoppable and ends with a tremendous mashup of the two pieces of music.
Segment 2 is a ballad that focuses on the idea that everyone has the bravery inside them to be a hero. Using Charlie Puth's One Call Away and David Bowie's Heroes, the audience will be moved to tears by the breathtaking juxtaposition of these songs. Afterall, we can ALL be heroes, just for one day.
Segment 3 rounds out the show by honoring the every day heroes that walk amongst us. These are our first responders, doctors, teachers, family, and anyone that makes sacrifices for the good of society. Although this segment utilizes some of the previous musical material, the main musical focus for this segment is My Hero by the Foo Fighters. The lyric "There goes my hero! He's ordinary." is used as inspiration throughout this final segment.
