The Power of 3 is a show that explores the enigma surrounding the number 3. Utilizing a plethora of 3 note musical motifs, the show lends itself well to simple and impressive visual and musical effect. The musical selections contains recognizable and famous uses of 3 note motifs as well as 3 beat phrases.  

Segment 1 begins with a statement of Ravel's "Bolero" followed by a woodwind feature using the music of Verdi's "La Forza Del Destino". This is quickly followed by movement 1 of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

Segment 2 utilizes Scarborough Fair as well as Greensleeves to create a more somber ballad moment, driving home the concept of a 3 beat pattern

Segment 3 really drives home the show utilizing Carol of the Bells mixed with Saint-Saens' "Danse Macabre". The segment is driven home with Rossini's "William Tell Overture".

This show is an adaptation of our very popular marching band show of the same title.  The adptation will allow the show to meet the appropriate time requirements for indoor winds as well as allow for better balance by replacing the battery instruments with drumset.
